Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates multiple research projects and initiatives, ensuring adherence to organizational goals, timelines, and budgets while fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develops and implements detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and monitoring progress to achieve project milestones and deliverables
  • Facilitates communication and resource distribution across teams, ensuring efficient execution of project tasks and enhancing engagement with stakeholders
  • Oversees data collection, reporting, and evaluation processes, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and measuring project impact
  • Organizes logistics for events, meetings, and training sessions, coordinating all necessary resources, including venues, speakers, and materials, to ensure successful execution
  • Supports the creation of promotional materials, reports, and presentations, preparing content and coordinating distribution to stakeholders to support project visibility and outcomes
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of project management principles, including planning, execution, and evaluation processes to ensure project success and alignment with organizational goals

University Advancement at Rochester Institute of Technology is adding a Sr. Project Manager to the Advancement Services and Administration team. This role supports initiatives that improve collaboration, streamline processes, and strengthen the way our teams deliver their work. The Sr. Project Manager will work with partners across the division to help coordinate projects, enhance communication, and ensure efforts are aligned with University Advancement’s strategic direction.

The Sr. Project Manager provides leadership for complex, cross-functional initiatives by developing project plans, guiding prioritization, and implementing project management methodologies and best practices. This role focuses on continuous improvement—identifying opportunities to streamline services, translate business needs into actionable solutions, and support data-informed decision-making. Working closely with stakeholders, technical partners, and leadership, the Sr. Project Manager helps drive change management efforts, improve transparency, and deliver programs that enhance operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction across the division. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, along with a growth mindset and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, repeatable processes within a collaborative, service-oriented environment.
