Description

Job Objective:  


The Testing Center Coordinator will be responsible for managing the Testing Center for students with disabilities, ensuring all legal accommodations are provided. The Testing Center Coordinator will also assist with proctoring make-up exams for the campus at large, ESL students who have permission for additional time, and any other groups for which the need for proctoring occurs, such as CLEPs and DSSTs. The Testing Center Coordinator will work to expand proctoring for external revenue sources such as CLEPs and DSSTs and continually research additional proctoring opportunities to benefit The Student Success revenue stream. The Testing Center Coordinator must have excellent people and customer service skills, behave professionally and pleasantly, and be able to deal effectively with diverse student populations while expressing kindness, empathy, and a high degree of confidentiality. The position will be a 9-month full-time employee (Late August through mid May) with half-time or quarter time status in the summer months, depending on need.


Job Responsibilities:  

  1. Receives direction from the Office of Access and Accommodations for any students requiring testing accommodations. Must stay current in ADA law as it relates to testing accommodations. Must follow all 504 accommodations with no exceptions. Collaborates with the Office of Access and Accommodations to meet legal needs.
  2. Serves as primary point person for the Testing Center. Handles all administrative items such as communications. Generates data regarding all student use of Testing Center services, enters data, and maintains SSC Database in relation to proctoring. 
  3. Prepares employment forms and maintains work records for all Testing Center student employees. Supplies documented training for all student employees.
  4. Completes all tasks necessary to provide a safe and inclusive testing environment with integrity. Provides problem-solving for IT issues or exam changes. Answers and reaches out to faculty for problem-solving or clarification. 
  5. Work with the University’s Marketing Department and SSC Dean for all internal advertising of Testing Center services, announcements, and events. Maintains and updates SSC Intranet and RWU web pages. 
  6. Develop new revenue streams by expanding CLEP and DSST appointments. Explore other community proctoring options. Work with Marketing to advertise the proctoring opportunities. Be strategic, innovative, and profit-minded with the outside testing program.
  7. Remains current on policies and procedures for CLEP administration and acts as CLEP Administrator/proctor. Remains current on policies and procedures for DSST administration, along with any new proctoring opportunities. Hires, trains, and supervises graduate student workers who proctor CLEP, DSST, and student exams. Maintains confidentiality of passwords for access and performs regular testing site management duties. 
  8. Performs other duties as needed.
The approved rate of pay is: $21 - $23 per hour

Requirements

Preparation and Training: 

Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Strong oral and written communication skills. Well-developed 

organizational skills needed. Understanding of ADA law.


Experience:

1 - 3 years experience in higher education. Knowledge of Google Suite along with Microsoft applications. Ability to learn technologies and keep up-to-date on updates on technologies. Ability to work with diverse students in a pleasant and supportive manner.
