Passero Associates’ Rochester, NY Office has an excellent opportunity for a Transportation Engineer III with 3+ years’ experience to work in our Rochester, NY office on a diverse range of traffic engineering and transportation planning projects using the latest advancements in industry technology. Applicants must be experienced in Traffic Operations and Safety, Traffic Impact Analyses, Corridor Management and Planning, Multi-modal Planning, and preferably, Traffic Signal/System Design. As a Traffic Engineer, you will lead complex traffic engineering and transportation planning projects from concept through completion. You’ll collaborate with public agencies, private clients, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions that improve mobility and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage traffic engineering projects, including traffic studies, signal design, corridor analyses, and safety evaluations
  • Conduct and oversee traffic modeling (Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, etc.)
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance
  • Collaborate with municipal and state transportation agencies (experience with NYSDOT a plus)
  • Support business development efforts, including client outreach and proposal preparation

 Qualifications/ Experience:

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering / Civil-related field
  • 3+ years of progressive traffic engineering experience
  • Proven experience with traffic analysis tools and transportation design standards
  • Strong communication and technical writing
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously
