Compensation Range:

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Supervises one or more of the activities of Supply, Processing and Distribution. Ensures the correct receipt and delivery of medical supplies and linen, transport of patients and equipment and other supplies to and from patient care areas. Supervises and directs staff. Investigates complaints from users and follows through with appropriate action. Assists in the development, interpretation and administration of departmental policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervises and directs assigned staff, providing guidance and directions. Develops specific job assignments. Makes decisions within hospital and departmental policy on the selection process, disciplinary action and performance reviews of assigned staff. Provides training and orientation.
  • Assists in the development, interpretation and administration of departmental policies. Provides input for the formulation of capital and operating budgets. Conducts meetings with assigned staff to review and discuss procedures and problems relating to operations and prepares minutes of meetings.
  • Investigates complaints from users and follows through with appropriate action. Responsible for the issuance of credits and returns of supplies for inventory system. Collects and screens requisitions for processing. Verifies accuracy of reports, including Patient Charge System.
  • Maintains records of function, such as employees, productivity and service. Recommends methods for improvement in these areas.
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with user departments. Serves on committees. Attends staff meetings and meetings with user departments to discuss operational and service functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related supervisory experience required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
