Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Programs, this role provides administrative support to the staff of the Humanities Center in the areas of office management, finance, and event planning. Serves as an important contributor to the Center, and a member of the staff of the College. This position necessitates the ability to process a high volume of information and produce various outputs with a high degree of accuracy.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee the Virtual Event Management System for the Humanities Center, responding to inquiries and confirming reservations in a timely manner, and sending out all related correspondence
- Supports Assistant Director with coordinating logistics for events as needed, including travel arrangements, marketing materials, and food and beverage, etc.
- Maintains current training in Workday. Processes expense reports for Humanities Center personnel, fellows, and affiliates as necessary with accuracy and in a timely manner.
- Maintains various Humanities Center listservs and keeps them up to date. Creates and sends out written communication to specific listervs as needed on behalf of the Humanities Center staff.
- Assists the Assistant Director in maintaining the physical space in the Humanities Center by interfacing with Facilities and placing work orders when necessary and overseeing the Humanities Center Undergraduate Affiliates program and communicating with the Gatekeeper about swipe access requests as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least 2 years in an administrative setting required
- Practical experience with the Workday system preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to manage competing priorities required
- Attention to detail required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
