Department: Sleep Disorders Center                     
Location:   10 Hagen Drive, Suite 200, Rochester, NY 14625                        
Hours Per Week: 36
Schedule: Nights,3x12's; 630 pm to 7 am                           
            

SUMMARY:
As a Sleep Technologist, your knowledge, skills, and strong focus on patient care contribute to the completion of sleep tests within our Sleep Centers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Patient Care. Review patient histories; Educate and orient patients on procedure; Perform sleep studies of; maintain accountability for timely and proper service to patients; provide excellent patient service 
  • General Maintenance. Clean, restock and prepare rooms on a daily basis
  • Documentation. Assist with scoring portable monitoring recordings according to AASM scoring parameters; identify artifact, inadequate signals and study failures and generate an accurate report
     

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of an Associate’s degree in Polysomnography Technology or Respiratory Therapy. Or, successful completion of a certificate program in Respiratory Therapy Technology.
  • Maintain current CPR or BLS certification.
  • NYS Authorization as a Polysomnographic Technologist, Respiratory Therapist, or Respiratory Therapy Technician
  • Polysomnography Technicians: Must pass the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists exam and obtain the Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential within 2 years of initial NYS registration.
  • RT/RTTs: Must pass the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Respiratory Therapist examination (CRT) and the Registry Examination (RRT) and obtain credentials within 1 year of the initial NYS registration.
  • Employees hired prior to 2013 must obtain Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential no later than November 1, 2018.

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
