WELDER/FABRICATOR

Advantech Industries, Inc. is a family-owned manufacturing company based in Rochester, New York, specializing in CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly services. The company, founded in 2002, serves multiple industries, including defense, medical, and aerospace, and operates out of a 250,000-square-foot facility. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are currently seeking an individual to collaborate with us as a high-level Welder/Fabricator to fabricate Ferrous and Non-Ferrous components for our clients. As a Welder/Fabricator you will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, fabricating components or structures and performing in-process quality checks on finished products.

  • Perform MIG, TIG, robotic, and spot welding to join components and produce consistent, straight weld beads.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accuracy of welds and adherence to specifications.
  • Set up and operate one or more work centers to support production requirements.
  • Grind and finish welded parts to meet quality standards.
  • Pull parts in and out of work areas as needed to maintain workflow.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to TIG/MIG weld steel, stainless steel, and aluminum;
  • Proficiency with metal fabrication tools that are common within the Welding industry;
  • Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects;
  • Familiarity with conducting in-process inspections using measuring devices such as Calipers and Height Gages;
  • Alignment with the requirements and principles of the Advantech Quality Management System and ISO 9001:2015;
  • Skills to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently;
  • Capacity to handle changes in business operations and adjust to new situations;
  • Preparedness to sit or stand for an extended period, lift or move heavy items, and operate welding equipment;
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • A HS Diploma or equivalent. 
  • A minimum of 5 years of welding/fabrication experience. 
  • AWS certification a plus.

According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $19.00 - $37.00 / hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
