Mold Set-Up Tech.

General Role:
The Mold Setup Technician is responsible for setting up machine and equipment and ensuring the smooth flow of production. The Mold Setup Technician ensures molding equipment is cleaned and maintained on a regular basis. The Mold Setup Technician is responsible for helping improve Apollo Optical System productivity and profitability through maximizing yields and reducing start up times on jobs.


Tasks and Responsibilities

• Completes morning startups of molding area and molds.
• Removes and installs tooling and sets up work cells per production schedule.
• Documents process changes and results. Maintains setup documentation, keeping it up to date and correct.
• Aid in process development of new tools.
• Stores raw material and ensures it is properly marked.
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness in mold production area.
• Responsible for training future mold setup personnel.
• Interfacing with maintenance personnel to facilitate proper preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Actively participates in the company ISO certification process
• Monitors machine performance, yields and or problems and reacts to them.
• Other duties as Assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience with optics helpful but not required
