The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Supports patient mobility under indirect supervision of the therapy teams. Uses safe patient handling equipment, transfer devices, and protective equipment in accordance with guidelines and vendor specifications. Reports to team any changes in patient status, and seeks assistance when necessary to provide safe, reliable care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supports patient participation mobility program under indirect supervision per plan of care established by therapy team, including walking patients, transferring patients, positioning patients, and assisting patients with independent completion of mobility tasks.
  • Communicates with the therapy team regarding changes in patient status and seeks assistance when necessary to provide safe, reliable care.
  • Prioritizes care for patients assigned on a given day.
  • Completes documentation as required for reporting patient function and participation.
  • Completes yearly training and competencies in safe patient handling, range of motion, transfers, positioning, gait training, self-care training, and strength training.
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 year of patient care experience preferred


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiently in basic word processing and computer data entry required


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • CSPHP - Certified Safe Patient Handling Professional within 1 year preferred
