As a premier fuel and hydraulic tank producer, IFH Group, Inc. is a growing company and destination employer for professionals and skilled experts.  This full-time Powder Coater position is 100% on-site in Rock Falls, Illinois, and eligible for insurance benefits on the 1st day of the month following date of hire.  The regular weekly schedule for this position is Monday - Thursday, 5:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. CST.  Powder Coater for the finish team plays a key role in operating spray coating equipment to apply powder finishes on steel and/or aluminum parts, ensuring consistent coverage, proper curing, and a high-quality finish that meets production and customer standards. Reporting to the Finish Supervisor, this role ensures tanks are properly prepared, coated, and inspected within a fast-paced fabrication environment. Physical Demands and Work Environment The information below describes physical activities and surroundings an individual may encounter while performing primary responsibilities and essential functions of this position. Physical Demands: Constant standing, bending, or stooping with repetitious hand and finger movements to use and operate coating equipment, hand tools, load, prep, and sort parts, and clean out washers and ovens; detect, perceive, identify, observe, inspect, and assess interior and exterior of tanks for surface and fabrication defects; express and exchange information in-person. Constant moving/traversing and positioning self to reach overhead and at or below the shoulder; move and position objects up to 50 lbs. QualificationsQualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Six (6) months’ previous work experience in powder coating or industrial painting required. Formal training or apprenticeship in industrial coating, finishing, or related field highly preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities   Strong work ethic with integrity while prioritizing safety compliance and operational excellence. Knowledge and skill to operate and monitor manual and automatic spray coating equipment safely and effectively. Ability, knowledge, and skill to adjust powder coating equipment settings and perform routine troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance. Knowledge and ability to identify surface defects such as rust, overspray, scratches, or missing components. Ability, knowledge, and skill to follow verbal and written work instructions and coating specifications consistently. Ability, knowledge, and skill to demonstrate professionalism and use respectful communication with employees at all levels within the organization. Ability, knowledge, and skill to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines. Ability and knowledge to apply basic computer skills. Ability and willingness to comply with all company policies, processes, and procedures including, but not limited to code of conduct. Ability and skill to fluently speak, read, write, and understand English.
