Job DetailsJob Location: Charlotte, NC 29730Position Type: Full TimeJob Category: ConstructionPosition Summary We are seeking an experienced and driven Assistant Project Manager to take ownership of commercial exterior projects across the Charlotte, west of Greensboro, and western South Carolina markets. This role is built for someone who has been in the fi eld, understands what quality execution looks like, and is ready to operate with a high degree of independence. The APM will manage projects from award through closeout, maintain GC and subcontractor relationships, and uphold the execution standards of CHE.   Key Responsibilities 1. Documentation and Reporting: a. Maintain comprehensive project documentation from preconstruction through closeout b. Create and maintain photo documentation of all phases of work, including pre-installation conditions, work in progress, quality control findings, and completed installations c. Document all RFIs, submittals, change orders, site inspections, punch list items, and corrective actions d. Maintain organized project files, including contracts, correspondence, meeting minutes, safety documents, and warranty information e. Track project progress and document updates in NetSuite; provide timely reports to the appropriate parties 2. Project Management and Coordination: a. Own the day-to-day management, scheduling, and execution of commercial exterior projects within the assigned territory b. Manage projects to completion on time, within budget, and to specified quality and contract standards c. Coordinate and communicate with GCs, subcontractors, suppliers, and owners to maintain workflow and alignment d. Manage subcontractor scopes, performance, and accountability across multiple active projects simultaneously e. Assist in the review and processing of change orders, pay applications, and project financial reporting f. Attend project meetings, OAC meetings, and owner walkthroughs as the primary CHE representative on site g. Provide support and mentorship to Construction Management team members 3. Quality Control and Safety: a. Conduct regular site walkthroughs to verify work quality and installation compliance with plans, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines; document findings thoroughly b. Monitor job site safety and enforce company policies, OSHA regulations, and manufacturer installation requirements c. Identify and resolve issues, conflicts, or delays quickly and effectively; document resolutions and lessons learned d. Ensure field crews and subcontractors are executing to install manual standards on every project e. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site environment Required Qualifications 1. Demonstrated ACM or field superintendent experience on commercial exterior construction projects 2. Strong working knowledge of exterior cladding systems, roofing, and building envelope installation compliance and quality control standards 3. Bilingual in English and Spanish, required 4. Proficiency in Google Workspace; experience with NetSuite, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms required 5. Strong ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and GC relationships simultaneously across multiple projects 6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail 7. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record 8. Established subcontractor relationships within the Charlotte and western markets preferred Preferred Qualifications 1. 3 or more years of experience in commercial construction project management or field supervision 2. OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire) 3. Hands-on experience with fiber cement siding, ACM panels, AWP systems, specialty cladding products, or commercial roofing systems 4. Experience working on active commercial construction sites with multiple trades and tight schedules 5. Understanding of construction contract administration, RFI management, and change order processing 6. Experience with digital documentation tools, cloud-based project management platforms, and mobile reporting applications Work Environment 1. This position requires full-time field presence within the assigned territory 2. Primary market covers Charlotte, west of Greensboro, and western South Carolina 3. One day per week in the main office, aligned with WIP meetings, team meetings, and internal touchpoints 4. Requires walking, lifting, standing, climbing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions 5. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required based on project needs 6.
