Supervises day to day HIM department operations with emphasis on quality and integrity of patient information, clerical functions, problem resolution, workflow design, and personnel management as support to HIM Director.

Responsibilities

  • Supervised daily Health Information Management (HIM) department operations, ensuring efficient workflow and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Maintained the quality, accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity of patient health information and medical records.
  • Designed and optimized departmental workflows to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
  • Resolved HIM-related operational issues and implemented solutions to support continuous departmental performance.
  • Led and managed HIM staff through scheduling, training, performance oversight, and day-to-day personnel support while assisting the HIM Director in achieving departmental objectives.
  • Performs related duties as required. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: Associate degree in Science of Medical Record Administration through an AHIMA accredited program.
  • Experience:  Three years management experience for an HIM department in an acute care setting.
  • Certification/License: RHIA or RHIT credentialed in good standing with the American Health Information Management Association [AHIMA].
