Job Purpose
The Product Data Engineer is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and governance of product master data, including part numbers, Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering changes, and product configurations within ERP systems. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of product data to support engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and manage product master data, including part numbers, BOMs, routings, and item attributes.
- Administer and control engineering changes through Engineering Change Request (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across ERP and related enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, and Regulatory teams to support new product introductions and product lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain product structures and configurations to support manufacturing and customer requirements.
- Ensure products and product data conform to applicable regulatory and energy-efficiency requirements, including:
- U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations
- Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) energy efficiency requirements
- California Energy Commission (CEC) appliance and equipment efficiency regulations
- Other applicable regional, national, and international regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Analytical thinker with strong Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong ability to create, review, and maintain engineering drawings and BOMs
- Familiarity with ERP systems, working with part numbers and BOM management
- High School Diploma or GED required; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Working Conditions
This position operates in a professional, temperature controlled, office setting that is clean and well lit. In this environment, employees will have their own workstation, office or cubical space and are equipped with basic office equipment including a desk, chair, telephone, headset, and computer, etc. This position also requires activity in a manufacturing environment with noise and fumes related to processes.  Temperatures may vary seasonally and walking and standing on hard surfaces are required.  Due to the nature of business activities, extended or flexible work schedule is often required over the traditional 8 to 5 workdays. Â
Some travel may be required.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
