Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for the prompt, pleasant, and efficient service to all community residents visiting dining rooms and activities. Remain aware of the physical appearance of dining rooms and waitress stations. Be watchful for situations that might pose a trip hazard for the residents.Â

Essential Functions:
- Maintain or exceed standards of appearance and cleanliness. Maintain personal hygiene and health standardsÂ
- Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information at all timesÂ
- Provide a pleasant dining experience for all community residents, while following instructions to meet their specific dietary needs when necessaryÂ
- Responsible for the proper dining set-up of the dining room(s) while meeting or exceeding hospitality and service standardsÂ
- Obtain food and supplies for meal service as directedÂ
- Distribute and store clean dishesÂ
- Practice safe, sanitary food handling for food preparation, food holding and serviceÂ
- Assist I preparation of foods as directedÂ
- Perform cleaning duties in dining room, kitchen, serving areas, cafeteria and storerooms as directedÂ
- Mop floors in areas as designated by supervisorÂ
- Practice and observe all safety and loss prevention procedures; adhere to universal precautions and all infection control guidelinesÂ
- May perform other duties or fill in for other dining room or wait staff as requestedÂ
- The ability to work in a safe and alert mannerÂ
- The ability to take ownership for associate’s safety and the safety of the residentsÂ
- Must disclose any medication that might impair associate’s ability to perform the job safely or competently.Â

- Becomes familiar and understands how to report a missing person using the Safe Return program or equivalentÂ
- Becomes familiar and understands the steps for fire evacuationÂ
- All associates are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all community residents
Requirements
Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:
- High school education or GED equivalent required.Â
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in “front of the house operations” within restaurant, hotel, club or similar environmentÂ
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contactsÂ
- Knowledge of OSHA regulationsÂ
- Knowledge of state food-handling and kitchen regulationsÂ
- Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizensÂ
- Must have patience, tact, and cheerful dispositionÂ
