Overview

$5,000 Sign-On BonusShift: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, depending on the surgery schedule.

Join our Surgical Services team as a Certified Surgical Technologist and play a vital role in life-changing care. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you’ll work alongside surgeons and perioperative staff to deliver safe, efficient surgical care. You’ll maintain sterile technique, anticipate the needs of the surgical team, and ensure instruments, equipment, and supplies are prepared for every procedure.

Surgical Services spans three Quad Cities campuses and includes 16 state-of-the-art operating rooms, open-heart suites, and specialized urology rooms. Surgical Technologists support a wide range of procedures including cardiothoracic, robotic, orthopedic, neurosurgery, general surgery, and more. Responsibilities

  • Maintain a sterile field and adhere to aseptic technique throughout all surgical procedures

  • Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the perioperative team by preparing and passing instruments, supplies, and equipment

  • Prepare operating rooms for procedures, including room setup, equipment checks, and efficient case turnover

  • Assist the circulating nurse with patient care and ensure correct patient identification prior to procedures

  • Maintain working knowledge of surgical instrumentation, equipment, and procedures across multiple specialties

  • Promote a safe surgical environment by following policies, regulatory standards, and reporting hazards or incidents

  • Contribute to a collaborative OR environment through effective communication and teamwork

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology. If not a graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology, then equitable experience with documentation of similar training. Surgical technologist certification required; or obtained within 1 year of graduation or eligibility to sit for the exam.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • CPR certification required.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTA or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) by NCCT required; or obtained within 1year of graduation or eligibility to sit the exam.
