Illinois Casualty Company is growing, and we have an opportunity for an Exposure Verification Analyst to join one of the leading providers of insurance protection for the food and beverage industry. This is an entry level position with no prior experience required. 

The Exposure Verification Analyst supports the Product Development department by ensuring accurate and timely premium audits for workers compensation, as well as sales verification for businessowners, liquor liability and umbrella policies. This role reports to the Product Development Manager. Assignments are deadline driven and will be based on external customer submissions or come directly from management.

 

 Essential Functions 

  • Accurately examines policyholder payroll and sales verification records and summarizing proper payroll and classifications to be used for determination of premium. 
  • Consistently applies sales modifications to existing policies through quote and endorsement processing on a timely basis. 
  • Preparing and submitting audits according to Company procedures. 
  • Maintaining a high level of communication with other appropriate departments of any conditions or changes in operations or finances discovered during the audit or sales verification process which could adversely impact the Company. 
  • Reviewing all communications, bulletins, and manual changes in order to maintain a current level of expertise needed to ensure professional audits and sales verifications. 
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to essential functions of the position. 
  • Actively pursuing training and educational opportunities to advance underwriting/industry skills and competencies. 
  • Additional duties as assigned. 


Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent required; associates degree and two years related experience preferred. 
  • Previous state filing experience a plus. 
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding policy forms and endorsements. 
  • Intermediate level proficiency in word processing, data entry, and spreadsheet application software. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information. 
  • Ability to respond to routine inquiries from agents, policyholders, and employees. 
  • Above average writing skills – knowledge of proper grammar, punctuation, and structure – ability to summarize written materials with clarity. 
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply appropriate mathematical functions as necessary to make projections, identify and analyze problems. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems where standardization exists. 
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, diagram, and schedule form. 
  • Proven organizational and time management skills; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 
  • Flexible and responsive to change.
