Position Overview: As a Controls Engineer, you will create original electrical designs for our products, modify designs to meet customer requirements, and integrate new technology solutions for cost savings and improved performance. You will work closely with engineering, sales, manufacturing, and purchasing teams to deliver robust, state-of-the-art solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop electrical aspects of equipment design based on customer requirements and established standards
  • Identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities in existing products; implement technology upgrades
  • Transform rough product designs into detailed prints using CAD software (SolidWorks Electrical)
  • Design Relay Logic motor control systems for 120 - 480 VAC and 24 – 240 VDC
  • Provide engineering support during manufacturing; revise designs as needed
  • Analyze and incorporate new electronic components into designs
  • Guide electrical assembly and ensure proper operation and troubleshooting
  • Validate, test, and sign off on electrical aspects of machinery before shipping
  • Program PLCs and VFDs as required
  • Specify system components and collaborate with vendors
  • Develop specifications for purchased parts
  • Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code and UL standards
  • Support technical documentation and pursue continuing education
  • Comply with all safety requirements


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or 5+ years of industrial controls experience
  • Minimum 3 years in an electrical design role
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar design software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel
  • Customer service orientation and ability to work across departments
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Knowledge of rigging and/or crane industries is a plus


Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based, with occasional exposure to manufacturing environments
  • May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise during infrequent periods
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, using hands, and reaching
