Birch Agency is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated General Education Teacher to support students in a school-based setting in Rockford, IL. This full-time role focuses on delivering high-quality English Language Arts instruction while fostering literacy growth, critical thinking, and a love for reading and writing.
4th grade ELA Teacher
5th grade ELA Teacher
5th Grade Math and Science Teacher
ASAP Start with the possibility to extend to the 2026-2027 school year
Responsibilities
Deliver engaging ELA instruction aligned with state standards
Develop lesson plans, assessments, and differentiated learning activities
Support reading comprehension, writing development, grammar, and vocabulary
Collaborate with grade-level team members, administrators, and support staff
Maintain accurate student records, progress monitoring, and classroom documentation
Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
Create a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Qualifications
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement for the position.
Previous classroom teaching experience preferred
Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills
Ability to support diverse learners and adapt instruction as needed
