Primarily support the operational efforts of the Food Program through facilitation of packing events, and food inventory and warehouse management. Provide support for the operational efforts of the Play Program through removal, refurbishment and shipping efforts.Â
Job Summary/Duties:Â
- FOOD PROGRAM
- Act as Showrunner for Food Program events when assigned (25-30 annually)Â
- Accurately execute Food Packing Events per Process Playbook
- Engage volunteers in fun, upbeat, meaningful and memorable service experienceÂ
- Act as public face and MC for high-energy events involving diverse audiencesÂ
- Capture images and stories from events that highlight the spirit of the programÂ
- Provide key follow-up information post-event in order to retain and expand relationshipsÂ
- Accurately execute Food Packing Events per Process Playbook
- Manage the Rockford Food warehouse
- Maintain accurate inventory numbers, packing supplies/lines and cleanliness/organization
- Utilize KATW systems for accurate reporting
- Prepare and receive remote event supplies/ingredients
- Load/unload trucks as necessary
- Maintain existing volunteer relationships and recruit new warehouse volunteers
- Act as Showrunner for Food Program events when assigned (25-30 annually)Â
- PLAY PROGRAMÂ
- Support playground removals per Playground Removal SOP
- Support PLAY Warehouse Manager in refurbishment efforts; itemized inventory efforts; as well as shipment preparation and execution efforts per Playground Refurbishment SOP
- Â Develop and train staff and volunteers within your area of responsibilityÂ
- Develop, recommend and improve logistical efficiencies for programÂ
- Ensure systems and processes are utilized for efficiency and reportingÂ
- Perform other duties as assignedÂ
Pay, Schedule and Benefits:Â
- This is a full-time, salaried position (40-50 hours per week). Typical workday hours of 7:00a-3:30p, Mon.-Fri. apply when in the office. Work week schedule varies based on event schedule and includes weekday, weeknight, and weekend hours. Note, this role includes a regular amount of weekend working hours, which will be mitigated through flexible hours during the Mon.-Fri. work week, upon approval.
- Must be able to travel. Approximately 80% of your time will be spent preparing for and executing 2-5 events/month, maintaining FOOD warehouse, inventory shipping and receiving, and administrative functions. 20% of your time will be spent supporting the PLAY Program operational efforts. All-expenses-paid domestic travel is required, including events in other parts of the U.S. - commonly requiring 2-4 days of travel. Approximately 50% of events are local/regional and 50% are out-of-state.
- Attending weekly staff and team meetings are required.
