Description
Pick Your Part is seeking a self-motivated, field-based Outside Car Buyer responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing vehicles to support inventory needs. This role manages purchasing activities, builds vendor relationships, and ensures consistent vehicle supply aligned with market demand and profitability goals.

- Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMÂ

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and purchase used vehicle inventory from tow yards, auctions, wholesalers, and private sellersÂ
- Establish, manage, and control purchasing activities within assigned territoryÂ
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vehicle suppliers, wholesalers, and auction representativesÂ
- Develop and maintain a consistent buying network to support monthly inventory acquisition goalsÂ
- Analyze market trends, inventory reports, and sales performance to guide purchasing decisionsÂ
- Negotiate purchase prices and terms to meet company profitability targetsÂ
- Travel as needed to inspect and acquire vehicle inventory across territoryÂ
- Plan and manage daily routes for efficient field coverageÂ
- Coordinate with transportation teams to ensure timely pickup and delivery of purchased vehiclesÂ
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, vendor agreements, and activity trackingÂ
- Verify ownership documentation and complete required purchase paperworkÂ
- Inspect vehicles for condition, value, and missing componentsÂ
- Work closely with the Inside Car Buyer team to meet yard and inventory goalsÂ
- Communicate market conditions, trends, and inventory needs to leadershipÂ
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED requiredÂ
- Valid driver’s license with good driving recordÂ
- Must pass drug screen and MVRÂ
- Must meet company vehicle insurance requirementsÂ
- Experience in sales, procurement, customer service, or automotive preferredÂ
