- Provides cleaning support to non-patient areas without direct supervisionÂ
- Cleans and maintains storage areas ensuring they are free from waste and debrisÂ

- Â Provides services with consideration of the physical, psychosocial, cultural/spiritual, and age-specific needs of those servedÂ
- Cleans patient rooms adequately and in a timely manner according to department guidelinesÂ
- Cleans exam rooms adequately and in a timely manner according to department guidelinesÂ

- Uses equipment and supplies correctlyÂ
- Demonstrates proper use of equipment by providing quality floor care in their assigned areasÂ
- Cleans and maintain department equipment used in the daily completion of job dutiesÂ

- Â Uses appropriate safety and infection control measuresÂ
- While cleaning, the Environmental Aide checks the rooms for inoperative furnishings or fixtures, and reports problems to the department directorÂ
- Collects trash and soiled linen from assigned areas, transporting to collection or disposal siteÂ
Â
- Â Teaches, directs, advises and informs others in an appropriate mannerÂ
- The Environmental Aide assists their supervisor with training of new employeesÂ

- Â Reports and records information correctlyÂ
- After cleaning patient rooms, the Environmental Aide signs off that the rooms have been cleaned and leaves a tent card in each of the roomsÂ
- Answers and responds to pages in a timely and courteous mannerÂ
