Job Summary
Food Tech is seeking a high-performing Construction Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of complex, design-built food and beverage production facility projects. Operating out of Rockland, MA offices, you will assume total ownership of project sites—managing master schedules, supervising trade subcontractors, and ensuring strict quality and OSHA safety compliance.ÂEssential Duties & Responsibilities
- Interpreting drawings and specifications.Â
- Maintaining and tracking master project schedule.Â
- Assuming ownership of project schedule upon mobilization.Â
- Creating and maintaining three-week lookahead schedule.Â
- Reviewing project budget with Project Manager on a regular basis.Â
- Assisting Project Manager with locating and evaluating potential subcontractors.Â
- Reviewing and understanding the Scope of Work of each subcontractor as developed by the Project Manager/Design Team.Â
- Working closely with building officials to request needed inspections.Â
- Overseeing orientation of new subcontractors.Â
- Scheduling, sequencing and coordinating trade subcontractors and owner vendorsÂ
- Conducting weekly on-site subcontractor meetings(and additional meetings as needed) to coordinate on-site activities.Â
- Supervising trade subcontractorsÂ
- Walking project site routinely to confirm work is being completed safely and meets FT schedule and quality standards.Â
- Ensuring the submitted and reviewed materials are being correctly incorporated into construction.Â
- Resolving subcontractor disputes or conflicts.Â
- Identifying conflicts/omissions; addressing directly with FT Design Team for resolution.Â
- Ensuring site safety requirements are always met; assisting on-site safety personnel with addressing infractions/violations when identified.Â
- Preparing daily site reports.Â
- Assisting project manager with monthly project reports addressing updates on project permitting, schedule, budget, quality issues, customer needs, etc.Â
- Implementing and executing punch-list procedures.Â
- Setting up and closing out construction site.Â
- Other duties as assigned
Â
Qualifications
- 10+years of relevant experience in food production facility construction, including overall responsibility for project site activities or recent completion of five(5) food production facilities.
- Experience with design-build method a plus.
- Must be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.Â
- Computer/Technology literate(MS-Office products, MS-Project, Procore, etc.)Â
- OSHA 10/30 Training.Â
- Always focus on customer satisfaction; exceed customer expectations.Â
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Â
- Team-oriented, positive attitude.Â
- Display ‘firm but fair’ relationships with subcontractors.Â
- Communicate challenges early and often.Â
- Ability to multi-task and manage others.Â
- Understand and drive quality control and schedule.Â
