CMM Programmer

Position Summary 

Mainstream Engineering is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled CMM Programmer to support our precision manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for developing and executing dimensional inspection programs to ensure compliance with engineering specifications for high-precision components and complex assemblies. The ideal candidate will bring strong metrology expertise, a deep understanding of GD&T, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and production teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, program, and execute inspection routines for Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) to validate dimensional compliance of machined and assembled components

• Operate and program FARO Arm portable CMM equipment for in-process and final inspections

• Interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications to create accurate inspection programs

• Generate detailed inspection reports and maintain thorough documentation of measurement data

• Identify dimensional discrepancies and communicate findings promptly to engineering and production leadership

• Support manufacturing teams during new product introductions, prototype builds, and low-rate production

• Assist inspection areas during peak workloads to maintain production flow

• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to inspection processes, programming efficiency, and quality systems

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience programming and operating a Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM)

• Experience programming and operating FARO Arm systems (required)

• Strong proficiency interpreting detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation

• Advanced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Familiarity with high-precision, tight-tolerance manufacturing environments

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Highly organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently
