We are seeking an entry-level Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and implementation of fabrication and assembly processes as new products transition from R&D into production. This role will work closely with design engineers and experienced manufacturing staff to help establish efficient, repeatable manufacturing processes.
The position will primarily support products in low-rate production that involve high-precision components and complex assemblies. The engineer will also assist with production setup, process documentation, and continuous improvement efforts for both commercial and military products.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, tooling development, and production support in a collaborative engineering environment.
Preferred Areas of Exposure
Candidates with coursework, internship, or early career experience in some of the following areas are preferred:
- Assisting with setup of new product assembly lines
- Designing or supporting production tooling and fixtures
- Developing or updating assembly work instructions
- Supporting production travelers for process tracking and traceability
- Basic knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes such as:
- CNC machining
- Sheet metal cutting/forming
- Injection molding
- Rotational molding
- Tube assembly fabrication
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM) concepts
- GD&T fundamentals
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing manufacturing and assembly processes for new products
- Work with design engineers to help identify critical features and support manufacturable designs
- Review fabrication and assembly drawings to support manufacturability and tolerance requirements
- Help determine tooling, equipment, and materials needed for manufacturing processes
- Support the design and development of production tooling and fixtures
- Create and maintain assembly work instructions and process documentation
- Support low-volume production builds to verify process performance and identify improvements
- Assist with analyzing production workflow, layout, and assembly methods to improve efficiency
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues
Position Requirements
- BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- GPA of 3.3 or higher
- Internship, co-op, or project experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship required due to strict ITAR regulations
