M&J is seeking Construction Inspectors to perform daily field inspections on Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) highway and bridge projects, ensuring work meets plans/specs, quantities and materials are verified, and traffic control and jobsite safety are maintained.

Responsibilities

· Perform daily inspection of construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.

· Monitor contractor operations including earthwork, drainage, paving, structures, traffic control devices, and utilities.

· Prepare Daily Work Reports documenting contractor activities and installed quantities.

· Verify materials used on the project meet required specifications.

· Coordinate with materials testing personnel and verify test results.

· Monitor maintenance of traffic operations and jobsite safety.

· Report construction issues to the Senior Inspector or Resident Engineer.

· Maintain accurate field documentation for project records.

Qualifications

Required

· Minimum 3–7 years of experience in highway or bridge construction inspection.

· NICET Level I or II certification in Transportation Construction Inspection or Construction Materials Testing.

· ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I certification.

Preferred

· Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Certification.

· ATSSA Traffic Control Technician (TCT) certification.

· Mid-Atlantic transportation construction inspection certification (MATCI or equivalent).

· Experience with materials testing and field density testing.
