About the Role:

The Adult Program Job Developer is responsible for building and promoting meaningful career opportunities for program participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role focuses on supporting individuals in their employment journey by providing hands-on coaching, conducting job-readiness activities, and maintaining strong partnerships with local employers. The position requires active supervision, community engagement, and an understanding of Person-Centered Planning to ensure participants’ goals are met. Success in this role is reflected in participants' job retention, skill growth, and overall workplace success.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Job development and placement experience.

  • Valid driver’s license and daily access to an insured vehicle.

  • Ability to fulfill physical job demands (e.g., lifting up to 45 lbs., brisk walking, assisting participants).

  • Computer proficiency.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a job coach or similar role.

  • Ability to network and form partnerships with employers.

  • Experience with Person-Centered Planning and documentation.

  • CPR/First Aid certification and completion of required trainings.

  • Minimum age of 18.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with employers and community partners.

  • Assist participants in identifying career goals and related interests.

  • Provide on-site coaching and support at job locations.

  • Conduct mock interviews and plan job search workshops.

  • Prepare participants for interviews and ensure post-placement follow-ups.

  • Deliver ongoing evaluations and workplace mediation as needed.

  • Track and document participant progress and incidents.

  • Attend weekly staff meetings and complete required paperwork promptly.

  • Support participant safety and well-being through direct supervision.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills:
