Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Licensed Art Therapist for our Expressive Therapy Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Licensed Art Therapist you will: Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality therapeutic care appropriate to the age, diagnoses, developmental state, and mental status of clients assigned to their unit/department; initiate and implement complete, comprehensive psychosocial assessments; provide individual, group, and family therapies to clients and their families; participate in interdisciplinary treatment teams to propose and develop strategies and interventions promoting excellent therapeutic outcomes; assist clients in developing self-respect, dignity, integrity, and self-actualization through traditional and adjunctive therapeutic services; document services and disseminate information/reports to community referral sources and agencies; coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, referral sources, and community resources for aftercare and supportive services to ensure successful discharge planning; demonstrate skills to diffuse psychotic and/or behavioral crises ensuring client, unit, and staff safety and stability; assess and intervene in suspected/disclosed child/adult neglect/abuse cases; promote positive patient-family-community relations; supervise interns in psychotherapeutic treatment including individual therapy, parent collateral work, family therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy; monitor patient progress and review treatment plans and goals regularly; supervise interns' documentation including charts, consent forms, progress notes, and treatment plans as required by state DHMH. Qualifications include full licensure (LCSW-C, LCPC, or equivalent), 2 years’ experience in acute care psychiatric setting preferred, Board Certification (ATR-BC)/registration preferred, and active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Work schedule is Sunday-Thursday, 9am - 5pm.
