Who We're Looking For

Quantum Space is redefining mobility and autonomy in cislunar and geostationary space. We're building the infrastructure, vehicles, and operational expertise that connect and protect assets across the Earth–Moon system.

We are seeking an experienced Configuration Management Specialist to support and execute configuration control across Quantum Space programs. You will own the day-to-day change control lifecycle — processing changes, managing document release, and maintaining configuration baselines — ensuring traceability, change control, and data integrity as the programs move from development through flight. This role is critical to maintaining mission readiness and program execution velocity.

Where You'll Make an Impact

●        Process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and Change Orders (COs) end-to-end — intake, classification, impact assessment routing, and tracking through approval and release.

●        Own release of controlled documents and drawings for flight and ground systems — verifying completeness, correct revision status, and proper markings prior to release.

●        Maintain configuration status accounting: baseline records, revision history, and open/closed change status across the configuration item structure.

●        Coordinate Interface Control Document (ICD) distribution and change coordination across engineering and program stakeholders.

●        Support Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) — prepare agendas and change packages, capture minutes, and track action items to closure.

●        Administer configuration management workflows in Windchill/PLM tooling, keeping lifecycle states and metadata aligned with the Configuration Management Plan (CMP).

●        Apply correct CUI and export control (ITAR/EAR) markings to controlled technical data in accordance with contract and program requirements.

●        Partner closely with systems engineering, I&T, manufacturing, and software teams to keep change processing moving quickly without sacrificing control.

●        Support flight readiness reviews, test readiness reviews, and configuration audits with accurate baseline and change records.

What It Takes

●        Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

●        3–6 years of experience in configuration management, document control, or engineering data management within aerospace or complex hardware programs.

●        Working knowledge of change control processes (ECR/ECN/CO) and configuration status accounting.

●        Hands-on experience with a PLM/document control tool (Windchill strongly preferred).

●        Ability to interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, and technical baselines.

●        Exceptional attention to detail and comfort operating within formal, auditable processes.

●        Clear written and verbal communication skills, including release notices and status reporting.

●        Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice to Have

●        Experience supporting flight programs through launch and on-orbit operations.

●        Familiarity with configuration management and documentation standards (e.g., EIA-649C, ASME Y14.100, MIL-STD-100, or DoD/NASA equivalents).

●        Experience with ICD processes and multi-stakeholder distribution.

●        Familiarity with CUI, ITAR, and/or EAR marking requirements for controlled technical data.

●        Hands-on exposure to spacecraft manufacturing, integration, or test environments.

●        Experience working in small, fast-paced spacecraft or advanced hardware startups.

What You'll Get

Ownership – Own the integrity of document control and release for Ranger Prime, ensuring the right hardware and software configurations fly, every time.

Impact – Directly support mission success by keeping the change pipeline accurate, traceable, and moving.

Velocity with Discipline – Enable rapid development without sacrificing control or traceability.

Growth – Deepen your CM expertise while working across engineering, manufacturing, and flight operations.

Compensation – Competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, generous leave, HSA, 401(k) matching, and equity sharing.

Additional Requirements

To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
