SUMMARY:
The EHS Manager identifies existing and predictable hazards on large project sites and takes corrective measures to eliminate risk from the project sites.Â
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Â Â
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health + Safety Sciences or related field, or equivalent safety experienceÂ
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in occupational Environmental Health + Safety in constructionÂ
Safety Trained Supervisor Certification, or equivalentÂ
Construction Health and Safety Technician Certification, or equivalent Â
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulationsÂ
Ability to effectively communicate ideas to employees, trade partners and clientsÂ
TECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Field Audits, Inspections and Risk IdentificationÂ
Leads comprehensive EHS audits and field inspections on complex or high-risk projectsÂ
Identifies systemic issues and ensures timely resolution and accurate documentationÂ
Conducts peer audits of other EHS Managers and shares findings with department leadershipÂ
Maintains a strong field presence and models expected EHS leadership behaviorsÂ
Safety Planning and High-Risk Work Â
Reviews and approves Job Hazard Analyses, Pre-Task Plans, and high-risk work scopesÂ
Ensures control measures align with DAVIS standards and regulatory requirementsÂ
Integrates EHS into preconstruction, logistics, and project planning discussionsÂ
Leadership and Trade Partner EngagementÂ
Facilitates leadership-level engagement on safety performance and risk mitigation strategiesÂ
Leads project EHS kickoff and trade partner preconstruction meetingsÂ
Conducts intervention meetings, with assistance from leadership and trade partner leadership to address repeated or significant noncomplianceÂ
Reinforces accountability and DAVIS safety culture across project teamsÂ
Training and Education Â
Designs and delivers advanced EHS education and specialized training coursesÂ
Develops training content tailored to DAVIS operations and project-specific risksÂ
Represents DAVIS in external conferences, industry panels, and client-facing safety briefingsÂ
Incident Investigation and Corrective Action ManagementÂ
Manages incident investigations and root cause analysesÂ
Ensures corrective actions are implemented, tracked, and communicated to stakeholdersÂ
Supports legal defensibility through thorough documentation and follow-upÂ
Project & Program AssessmentsÂ
Oversees Monthly EHS Assessments and trend analysis across assigned projects or revenue groupsÂ
Analyzes safety performance data to drive proactive interventions and planningÂ
Leads development and refinement of EHS performance metricsÂ
Escalates organizational risks and collaborates with leadership on improvementsÂ
Systems, Documentation and Regulatory InterfaceÂ
Creates and manages EHS content within internal platformsÂ
Instructs project teams and EHS staff on effective use of EHS systemsÂ
Leads OSHA inspections, insurance audits, and third-party evaluationsÂ
Represents DAVIS procedures and safety management practices to external stakeholdersÂ
Policy Development and Compliance Â
Leads development and refinement of project and corporate EHS policies and proceduresÂ
Applies expert-level knowledge of OSHA, DAVIS policy, and contract requirementsÂ
Ensures compliance, risk mitigation, and legal defensibility across projectsÂ
Leadership and Staffing Â
Supervises EHS staff and provide day-to-day guidance and oversightÂ
Mentors EHS personnel and models professional EHS leadershipÂ
Interviews and evaluates EHS candidates for technical and cultural alignmentÂ
Supports professional development for team membersÂ
Strategic Initiatives, Client Support and Environmental ProgramsÂ
Leads internal business plan initiatives, pilot programs, and tool developmentÂ
Collaborates cross-functionally to advance department strategyÂ
Supports client EHS relationship management, including environmental issues, injury claims, and loss controlÂ
Coordinates environmental compliance and industrial hygiene efforts, including air and noise monitoring and exposure control implementationÂ

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is
$115,000.00 - $140,000.00DAVIS is committed to providing our employees with a competitive total compensation package that enhances your quality of life.
