Responsibilities/Overview:

The Program Director is directly responsible to his/her immediate supervisor for the operational and administrative functioning of assigned programs within Agency policies and procedures. The Program Director is expected to carry out routine responsibilities independently with minimal supervision, and to actively participate in program development activities.

 

Essential Functions:

Operational Oversight

  • Evaluate and manage program for effectiveness, efficiency, outcomes, and quality
  • Develop and monitor program budget as required
  • Communicate status of program’s operations and outcomes on a regular basis to a variety of audiences (staff members, community partners, stakeholders, and funders)
  • Maintain adequate records to provide required statistical information to reflect level and nature of program activity as may be required by various funding/grant sources, and to recognize the level of volunteer participation and activity
  • Maintain fidelity to established service/program model design(s)
  • Routinely participate in review activities and processes to ensure appropriate use of resources, and appropriate and effective operations as assigned
  • Participate actively in team meetings and supervision at least once per month; utilize feedback to enhance the quality of work
  • Serve as a resource to, and member of, the MHS Leadership team to consult in areas related to program operations

Staff Development, Supervision, Training

  • Serve as a field instructor to at least 8 student interns, providing caseload management support (assigning cases, managing transfers, etc.), training and supervision
  • Serve as clinical supervisor for assigned clinicians, providing caseload management support, clinical supervision, and Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and development of new staff, student interns, and contract workers, as required
  • Assist with design and implementation of orientation for all program staff and students and ensure new hire orientation is completed by each new staff and student intern
  • Develop and maintain the MHS Student Learning Program Handbook
  • Monitor supervisee’s adherence to clinical and operational standards of practice consistent with JSSA policies and procedures, and professional practice standards
  • Ensure supervisees’ professional growth and development and encourage staff to identify areas of practice for professional development
  • Review, approve and process employee timesheets, mileage forms, and vouchers on a timely basis
  • Conduct annual written evaluations and develop work plans for supervisees (staff and student interns) in consultation with the Director
  • Provide individual clinical supervision as required in accordance with JSSA policies and licensure regulations
  • Facilitate peer supervision for advanced licensure staff members in accordance with JSSA policies and Maryland/Virginia state regulations related to the provision of Category II CEUs for peer supervision activity
  • Serve as administrative and clinical resource to staff and student interns
  • Facilitate in-service and other clinically focused meetings as appropriate
  • Consult on complex cases and difficult supervisory issues with the Director, School-based and Student Learning Programs and/or the Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services

 

Program Support/Community Relations

  • Serve as an agency-wide trainer for MANDT
  • Support the implementation, review, and evaluation of CARF standards to achieve and maintain accreditation
  • Develop collaborative partnerships and relationships with community partners, stakeholders and funders which advance the Agency’s mission and support program operations as needed
  • Participate in significant and continuing professional activities and community work which enhance professional skills and JSSA's image and impact on the community
  • Develop and facilitate presentations to community partners, stakeholders, and audiences on requested topics  associated with program’s scope of service and/or professional expertise

 

Minimum Education, Licensure, and Work Experience Required:

  • A Master’s degree in Social Work or an equivalent Master’s degree program and a current license in appropriate jurisdictions
  • Minimum of 7 years post – Master’s clinical/therapy/supervisory experience with increasing responsibility
  • Completion of state stipulated requirements for Clinical Supervisors
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to relate effectively to clients, professional and non-professional staff
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Starting Annual Salary: $100,000 to $115,000
