Position Overview 

Axle is seeking a Biomedical Informatician that will support NIH’s clinical and research data management activities by providing expertise in data abstraction, curation, reporting, and regulatory compliance. This role supports clinical trial lifecycle management, stakeholder engagement, and adherence to federal reporting requirements. 

This opportunity supports a blended team providing PMO leadership, IT engineering and sustainment, biomedical informatics and data science, as well as policy, process, communications, and training functions. The work enables both NIH basic research and the NIH clinical research enterprise.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Perform data abstraction, curation, and coding of biomedical and clinical research data. 
  • Manage clinical trial status updates and reporting activities. 
  • Monitor accrual reporting and ensure compliance with NIH policies and federal regulations. 
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 
  • Track operational issues and recommend process improvements. 
  • Support PRS (ClinicalTrials.gov) registration and maintenance activities. 
  • Provide user support, training, and stakeholder engagement. 

Qualifications 

  • Experience in biomedical informatics, clinical research operations, or health data management. 
  • Familiarity with clinical trial reporting systems and regulatory requirements. 
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills. 
  • Experience working in federal or NIH environments preferred. 

Education

  • Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in the individual’s field of study and specialization and doctorate-level degree required in the specific subject matter.
  • A Master’s degree in biology/computer science/engineering plus six (6) years of additional directly related work experience over and above the minimum experience requirements for this position may be substituted for the doctorate degree.

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
