OBJECTIVE:
The Study Coordinator oversees and moves research studies from the conceptual phase through to completion. They coordinate costing models, manage the submission-review-approval process of animal protocols, and develop study schedules, and sample collection and immunization/challenge protocols. They ensure USDA, AALAC, and OLAW standards are met.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
•    BS degree in a related field and a minimum 4 years of relevant laboratory animal experience
•    Understand and communicate in English to include functional reading, math and written skills
•    AALAS certified
•    Able to lift 50lbs
•    Knowledge of federal laws and industry guidelines concerning lab animal welfare
•    Keen attention to details; able to initiate and organize projects and multitask
•    Intermediate to advanced computer/PC skills in MS Office, Outlook
•    Must be detail-oriented, dependable, motivated, able to work with minimal supervision
•    Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of management and staff
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Meet with clients to discuss the needs of their proposed study design
•    Develop cost assumptions, and review quotes and contracts for accuracy
•    Initiate daily contact with various departments to ensure performance of assigned roles on studies and direct these departments to ensure they function in unison for the duration of each study
•    Assist both internal and external PIs with creating a study schedule understood by all parties
•    Communicate with those working on each study to ensure there are no conflicts with other studies
•    Prepare numerous reports including: AAALAC, USDA, and OLAW annual reports.
•    Ensure reports within the facility database are free of errors and delivered in a timely manner
•    Perform technical procedures to the specifications outlined by the client
•    Work with the IACUC Coordinator to develop SOPs for each study, as determined by the client, to ensure technical staff is appropriately trained to meet state, federal, and industry guidelines, and adheres to Company SOPs, with the training appropriately documented
•    Ensure that all samples are collected, processed and shipped as directed by the client
•    Track all labor and M&S charges ensuring they match the quote and remain profitable
•    Perform other duties as assigned
