IWC’s respooler position involves the operation of specialized machinery designed to rewind material from larger rolls onto smaller, more manageable ones, or onto spools that match specific customer requirements or production needs. The primary responsibility of the respooler is to ensure that the material is evenly and correctly wound, which is essential for maintaining the quality and usability of the product. During respooling the operator must meticulously monitor the tension, speed, and alignment of the material as it is spun to avoid imperfections like wrinkles, creases, or tears. Additionally, quality control checks, making sure that the material meets all specified standards before it is dispatched for further manufacturing stages or for shipment. Efficiency and attention to detail are paramount in this role, as any errors can lead to waste and increased production costs. Furthermore, respoolers need to be adept at handling the machinery, requiring a good understanding of its mechanics and the ability to perform minor maintenance tasks to keep operations running smoothly.


  • Respooler Operator
    • Review the order packing list/MO to ensure that the product is ready to be respooled and is correct.
    • Match up proper labels and tags.
    • Locate the correct size spool that the order requires.
    • Ensure accuracy of the amount of footage that is being respooled to avoid any overage/underage by making sure to zero out the counter reader before each order is started.
    • After initial setup for respool, ensure that the traverse process is staying equal to both ends of the spool.
    • Final packing depending on product type consists of wrapping spool in film or they are tied off.
    • Ensure that all finished products are sent to QC for final inspection.
  • Lift up to 30 lbs. frequently and greater than 50 lbs.
  • Able to bend, stoop, reach and stand for long periods of time.
  • H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Disposition of cardboard, trash, scrap, and misc. items
    • Breakdown empty cardboard and place on a pallet for recycling/return to vendor.
    • Keep the area around the machine clean.
    • Empty out trash bins from the work area when applicable.
  • Safety
    • Comply with all safety regulations.
    • Conduct periodic safety audits.
