POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the registration of patients with a focus on customer service, ordering exams, gathering information, scheduling appointments, up front collections and the ability to interpret and ensure compliance with payor guidelines for accurate input. Duties may also include calling on Insurance and getting authorazations for exams.
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Minimum Work Experience: Prior experience involving public contact.
Required Licenses/Certifications: None
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Ability to interpret and generate written correspondence utilizing proper grammar, spelling and composition skills. Ability to operate office equipment, such as copy machine and fax machine. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Good communication skills essential.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
1. Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the HMHD Compliance Plan.
2. Conduct reflects HMHD's values and a commitment to HMHD's Code of Conduct.
3. Attends the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs.
4. Demonstrates proficiency in understanding the materials presented during the corporate integrity and compliance training and education program.
5. Complies with all HIPAA standards.
6. Continually demonstrate the ability to determine appropriate patient status.
7. Register patients with correct account number.
8. Obtain appropriate signatures and order radiological exams.
9. Schedules and complete benefit information to include patient estimates and obtaining required authorizations.
10. Insures appropriate co-pays are collected, balances receipts and secures the cash drawer at close of shift.
11. Performs other tasks and assists in other areas as assigned and needed by the Supervisor, Coordinator, Director and Assistant Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiologist or Administrator within our Hospital District. Performs any other tasks to fill the need of the department, hospital and its patients.
