Summary
The New Accounts/Teller Representative is responsible for delivering high-quality customer service by accurately handling daily teller transactions and assisting customers with opening and maintaining deposit accounts. This role supports branch growth by building relationships, identifying customer needs, and ensuring compliance with all bank policies and applicable regulations.
Job Functions
- Process routine financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, wires, payments, and check cashing
- Balance cash drawer and maintain proper cash controls in accordance with bank procedures
- Open and service consumer and business accounts, including checking, savings, CDs, and IRAs
- Explain account products, services, fees, and disclosures clearly to customers
- Verify customer identity and documentation in compliance with CIP and regulatory requirements
- Identify customer needs and cross-sell appropriate bank products and services
- Assist customers with digital banking, debit cards, and general account inquiries
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all transactions and account openings
- Follow security procedures and report suspicious activity per BSA/AML guidelines
- Provide professional, courteous service and resolve customer issues promptly
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1ā2 years of customer service, cash handling, or banking experience preferred
- Ability to pass background check in accordance with banking regulations
