Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Rockwood, TN 37854Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 2 Year DegreeJob Category: ManufacturingProduction Supervisor   Department: Production Reports To: Production Manager Location: Rockwood Job Type: Full-Time Classification: Salary / Exempt   Available Shifts MPP, a powdered metal manufacturing company, is currently seeking qualified candidates for Production Supervisor positions on our off shifts: 2nd Shift: 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. 3rd Shift: 11:30 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.   Job Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating production activities across the Press, Secondary Finish, and Sintering Departments. This role supports floor leads in executing daily production goals, ensures adherence to quality and safety standards, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The supervisor also performs key administrative duties, including performance management, reporting, and operational audits, while fostering a safe, productive, and engaged work environment. Key Responsibilities Provide daily leadership, direction, and support to department leads and production employees Plan, assign, and adjust workloads to meet production goals and deadlines Communicate critical updates to management, including quality, delivery, and operational concerns Monitor and improve employee performance, safety practices, and productivity Deliver regular feedback, coaching, and recognition to team members Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and increase efficiency Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Setup, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance teams Assist in evaluating and resolving non-conforming products Ensure equipment is properly maintained for optimal production output Conduct employee meetings and training sessions as needed Review and manage employee timekeeping and attendance records Lead or participate in cross-functional teams focused on safety, quality, and performance improvements Promote positive employee morale and address workplace concerns Maintain an organized, safe, and professional work environment Enforce company policies and administer disciplinary actions when necessary Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and work instructions Coordinate supply ordering and purchase requisitions Support production scheduling and communicate delivery timelines with customer service Assist with employee performance evaluations and development planning Prepare reports and presentations as required Represent the company in a professional and positive manner Perform additional duties as assigned Education & Experience Technical or business degree preferred 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Prior experience supervising production employees required Skills & Competencies Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with manufacturing ERP systems Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 6S, Kaizen, Continuous Flow, Value Stream Mapping, and Six Sigma preferred Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Physical & Work Environment Requirements Frequent standing, walking, and sitting in both office and production settings Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Visual attention to detail for inspections and documentation Occasional bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting Flexibility to work non-standard or off-shift hours as needed Safety Responsibilities Follow all company safety policies and procedures Participate in safety training and hazard identification initiatives Properly use PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.) Report unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately Actively support a clean and safe workplace Benefits MPP offers a competitive benefits package, including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid holidays Paid time off (PTO) MPP is committed to providing a safe, productive, and inclusive work environment where employees can grow and succeed.
