Position Description:

The primary purpose of this position is to analyze commercial lending opportunities by evaluating borrower financial information, assessing credit risk, and preparing comprehensive credit recommendations that support sound lending decisions, portfolio quality, and Nutmeg’s business banking objectives.


Essential Functions:

  • Commercial Credit Analysis and Underwriting
  • Analyze business and personal financial statements
  • Evaluate cash flow, leverage, liquidity, and repayment capacity
  • Perform global cash-flow and guarantor analysis
  • Prepare credit analysis and underwriting recommendations
  • Credit Structuring and Risk Assessment
  • Evaluate collateral, LTV, guarantees, and loan structure
  • Identify key credit risks and mitigating fa
  • Support covenant and loan-condition development
  • Apply commercial credit policy and underwriting standards
  • Credit Memorandum and Documentation
  • Prepare credit presentations and approval packages
  • Maintain accurate underwriting documentation
  • Coordinate financial information and due diligence req
  • Support approval and closing processes
  • Portfolio Monitoring and Annual Reviews
  • Complete annual and periodic credit reviews
  • Monitor financial performance and covenant compliance
  • Identify emerging credit deterioration
  • Support risk-rating and watch-list processes
  • Credit Quality and Portfolio Intelligence
  • Monitor portfolio concentrations and credit trends
  • Support criticized/classified loan reporting
  • Provide portfolio and credit-quality analysis
  • Support examinations, audits, and credit-quality reviews

Qualifications:

Experience, Education & Credentials:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field is required.
  • A minimum of five years of prior experience in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement preparation/analysis or other financial analysis is required.
  • Experience with Corelation Keystone, Jack Henry Symitar, SageWorks (Abrigo) or nCino preferred.
  • Experience with commercial real estate underwriting preferred.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and analysis of credit metrics. Ability to calculate and interpret financial ratios, analyze date, and complete trend analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
