Job Summary:

Oversee all activities within the distribution center including the safety of our team members, performance of the warehouse and transportation functions, delivering outstanding customer service

Key Responsibilities:

● Responsible for achievement of business plans, strategies and objectives by consistently utilizing KPIs with a focus on quality and accuracy to identify performance gaps and work with the senior leadership team to address these issues

● Work closely with facility managers to develop CAPEX (Capital expenditure) plans for building improvements and ensure compliance with all OSHA, PSM (Process Safety Management) and other regulatory matters

● Collect/analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and solutions for the location

● Prepare and develop yearly P&L budget, utilize strong analytical skills to understand and interpret budget data and create specific action plans designed to sustainably solve budgetary gaps

● Develop strong relationships with customers that facilitate partnership and ongoing improvements in the processes and quality

● Promote and provide exceptional (WOW) Customer Service by building and maintaining effective communication with carriers, vendors, internal and external customers that delivers innovative solutions to meet customer needs/exceptions and not compromise service

● Promote a safe workplace where individuals feel required to have a sense of duty for their safety and the safety of teammates; to include safe operation of equipment, reporting maintenance needs or unsafe conditions, following GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SQF (Safe Quality Foods) standards and maintaining a neat and clean work environment free of hazards

● Interact with team members regularly with a goal to build and maintain a positive culture in the building and work to address concerns of the team

● Work through operational challenges in an organized, customer focused manner

● Promote talent development of direct reports through coaching, and mentoring, as well as building bench strength to supply talent for future growth of the company

● Champion a safe work environment through a Zero Tolerance approach, building an environment where individuals feel a personal sense of responsibility for their safety and the safety of fellow team members

● Understanding Emergency Procedures, ensure they are accessible and participate in update review

● Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

● High School diploma or GED or equivalent. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred

● Bachelor's degree with Transportation, Supply Chain or Logistics preferred

● Experience with Lean, Six Sigma and/or ISO 9001 preferred

● Knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) Hours of Service

● Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

● Knowledge of GMP and SQF

Skills & Qualifications:

● Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources

● Ability to maintain and ensure confidentiality of team member and company information

● Able to read, write, speak and understand English

● Ability to read paperwork, with or without corrective lenses

● Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback, coaching, and counseling

● Ability to apply strong math skills that result in identification of opportunities and justify action plan recommendations

● Accuracy and attention to detail

● Proficient in computer usage to include email, word processing, spreadsheets

● Knowledge of computer software and applications

● Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include overtime, nights, weekends and holidays as required

● Ability to relocate

● Ability to Travel (up to 10%)

Physical Demands/Equipment:

● Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally

● Must be able to sit on an almost continual basis and stand, walk, bend, or squat on an occasional basis in a normal office environment

● Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat on an occasional basis in a warehouse environment

● Must be able to adjust to fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit

● Must be able to work in a noisy warehouse environment

● Must be able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc.)

● May be exposed to products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)

● Ability to utilize equipment for the job (such as computers, cell phone, copiers, scanners, printers, etc.)

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $145,500.00.
