SUMMARY
The Warehouse Supervisor plays a key role in material handling of all inbound material purchases and outbound shipments at our Rocky Mount manufacturing facility.They coordinate delivery times with carriers and internal procurement and logistics departments. They execute and maintain department SOPs, facilitate material dispositions, and ensure timely processing of inventory transactions in the ERP system. The warehouse supervisor oversees the department staff, communicates with internal partners and external vendors on a regular basis, both verbally and in writing.  Professional, timely, and effective communication is essential in this role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Ensures Warehouse personnel are working safely and are responsible for their own and others safe working practices.
  • Ensures accuracy of the perpetual inventory at both locations by using the inventory management system and conducting a cycle count review process. 
  • Ensures that physical conditions in warehouses are conducive to efficient support of production and shipping operations
  • Ensures that product stored in warehouses meets all storage requirements necessary to meet quality and food safety standards
  • Ensures that equipment necessary for efficient operations in the warehouse is consistently available and well maintained
  • Trains and develops employees to meet operating, safety, and quality requirements within the department.
  • Evaluates the performance of assigned warehouse employees by conducting a quarterly performance review establishing key accountabilities
  • Identifies priorities and is able to succinctly communicate with the shift team to delegate tasks. 
  • Holds employees accountable while always showing respect for the person.
  • Communicates well with the shift team, plant leadership, and outside parties
  • Actively performs continuous improvement analysis to improve material storage and flow.
  • Effectively sponsors activities necessary to eliminate storage of obsolete inventory
  • Develops clear and transparent roles and responsibility for warehouse personnel. 
  • Develops employee and operating schedules that support efficient warehouse support for stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicates with Plant or Senior leadership to ensure warehouse needs are identified and addressed.
  • Leads and participates in Root cause trouble shooting.   Responsible for documenting process deviations, performing appropriate investigations, providing, and executing corrective action and preventative action plans.
  • Performs any and all other assigned tasks.

SUPERVISORY
  • Manages 3 warehouse associates
REQUIREMENTS
  • Computer literate with skill in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Proven track record demonstrating ability to lead people and get results.
  • Proven track record of using focused problem solving, Kaizens, to prioritize and improve operational performance.
  • Understands basic tools for Root cause trouble shooting…. 5S, fishbone, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization; possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be well organized with attention to detail, and the ability to follow directions with minimal supervision.
  • Bilingual a plus

EXPERIENCE
  • Requires at least three years of supervisory experience that includes demonstrated operational improvement on their shift.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP and/or Food Safety regulations
