Senior Lead – Rail Operations

Location: Greer, SC

Lead from the Front with Road & Rail Services

Road & Rail Services is hiring a hands-on Senior Lead to oversee employees performing rail and terminal operations. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, productive, and quality-focused work environment.

This is not a desk-only leadership role. The Senior Lead will spend most of the shift in the work area-training employees, monitoring work practices, checking quality, correcting safety concerns, and helping the team complete daily assignments.

The right candidate will be a dependable leader who communicates clearly, holds employees accountable, and is willing to work alongside the team.

What You Will Do

Direct and support employees performing daily operational duties

Maintain a safe working environment and correct unsafe conditions immediately

Ensure compliance with company, customer, OSHA, EPA, FRA, and DOT requirements

Train employees on safety rules, work instructions, quality procedures, and site SOPs

Monitor employee performance, productivity, attendance, and work quality

Assign work and help the team meet daily production requirements

Report and document accidents, injuries, equipment damage, and safety incidents

Investigate operational or quality issues and help prevent repeat occurrences

Ensure employees properly use required tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment

Identify opportunities to improve safety, service quality, and operating efficiency

Communicate operational needs and employee concerns to site management

Work alongside employees when necessary to support safe and timely job completion

Promote a workplace built on respect, accountability, and teamwork

What We Are Looking For

Previous lead, supervisory, logistics, railroad, automotive, warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial experience preferred

Ability to train, coach, motivate, and direct employees

Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality

Ability to enforce policies and address performance concerns consistently

Clear written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operation

Basic computer skills

Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

Valid state driver's license when required to operate company equipment

Ability to meet all applicable conditions-of-employment requirements

Dependable attendance and availability for the assigned schedule

Physical and Work Environment

This position requires the ability to:

Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, dust, limited lighting, and noisy conditions

Walk on uneven surfaces and remain active throughout the shift

Frequently bend, twist, crouch, and perform repetitive movements

Occasionally climb and work at heights exceeding 20 feet

Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, including above shoulder level

Stand for periods exceeding two hours

Hear and follow verbal work and safety instructions

Communicate by telephone and two-way radio

Review and enter information using a computer

Properly wear all required personal protective equipment

Perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
