Position Overview - Millwright/Rigging Company

This role is responsible for planning safety, quality, schedules, and customer satisfaction on each assigned project in an industrial environment, and may work on tools directly when crew size is small.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a crew, or multiple crews, as dispatched by Operations
  • Serve as Supervisor in charge of the total project when responsible for paperwork
  • Follow the Estimator's general guidelines for each project
  • Communicate and reach agreement with the Estimator on any deviations from the plan, particularly scope changes generated by the customer or other outside forces
  • Receive the Estimator's summarized plan before the start of work, including labor breakdown, schedule, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other expenses, and ensure this handoff happens in a timely manner
  • Complete all required project forms in a timely, legible manner, including timesheets, safety forms, tracking forms, change orders, and purchasing forms
  • Obtain required customer signatures on all applicable forms
  • Manage crew performance, addressing employees who are lazy, unsafe, disruptive, or unqualified, using write ups and terminations when appropriate
  • Identify and report business development opportunities arising from jobsite relationships to the Estimator
