Job Title: Shop Manager

Job Description: J&A Glass is seeking a motivated and dependable individual to fill the role of Shop Manager. This is a full-time position, with a competitive starting wage and opportunities for advancement within the company.

Responsibilities:

• Manage shipping and receiving by coordinating with project managers and suppliers. 
• Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.
• Maintain warehouse equipment and ensure maintenance of fleet vehicles.
• Assist in the fabrication of storefront, curtain wall, and doors. 
• Learn to cut and fabricate glass and mirrors to train future shop hands.
• Clean and organize shop areas as needed. 
• Utilize a forklift and manual labor to load, offload, and deliver materials to work sites.
• Assist with brake metal fabrication.
• Identify and report issues with work material. 
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements:

• Commercial Storefront Fabrication and Glass Cutting experience preferred but not required.
• Comfort using technology as well as power tools and fabrication equipment. 
• 1-2 years of basic construction or warehouse labor experience
• Valid ID and driver's license free of major accidents and DUIs 
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Must be punctual, dependable, and have a positive attitude.
• Quickly trained for forklift license.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication sheets.
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions and travel to work sites out of the area as needed.
• A job for which military experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Open to applicants who do not have a high school diploma/GED or college diploma.
• An excellent job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

• Typical hours for this position are from 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
• Work is typically scheduled in a climate-controlled shop. 
• Overtime as required.
• Must follow Company uniform requirements.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
