Position Summary:
The AYA Rooftop Restaurant Bartender Apprentice supports the bar by learning and participating in all aspects of bar preparation, food and bar service, stocking, cleaning, and breakdown. The Bartender Apprentice will gain hands-on experience in cocktail execution, maintaining bar cleanliness, stocking inventory, and delivering exceptional guest service. The position requires close collaboration with front-of house teams and bartenders while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and a professional, polished demeanor.
 
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and
promoting our values.
2. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
3. Maintain in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage offerings; confidently explain the menu and make recommendations using prescribed verbiage.
4. Follow the department's steps of service consistently to ensure high-quality guest experience.
5. Support bartenders with daily shift operations, including bar prep and setup; stock and restock liquor, mixers, ice, glassware, and garnishes.
6. Monitor guest satisfaction, anticipate guest needs, and address concerns or requests promptly,
escalating issues to servers or management when appropriate.
7. Assist with setting up, maintaining, and breaking down the back bar.
8. Clear bars and service areas of dirty dishes and glassware using prescribed methods.
9. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper sanitation in all work areas, including dining room, kitchen, back bar, and service stations.
10. Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
11. Provide attentive, friendly, and personalized service throughout the dining experience.
12. Assist with additional tasks as directed by supervisors or managers.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written
and verbal form. Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
2. One (1) year of experience in gourmet, fine dining, or high-volume restaurants.
3. Must be at least 21 years of age.
4. Must possess or obtain a California Food Handler Certification.
5. Ability to handle a flexible work schedule, working weekends, holidays, and all shifts.

This job has the following physical requirements:
1. Dexterity: full use of arms and hands to hold, grab, pick up objects up to 7 hours/ day 88% of shift
2. Standing: unassisted up to 7 hours/day for 88% of the shift
3. Walking: up to 7 hours/day for 88% of the shift
4. Bending: 2 hours/day for 25% of the shift
5. Twisting: 2 hours/day for 25% of the shift
6. Climbing: including ladders, less than 1 hour/day for 13% of the shift
7. Kneeling: 1 hour/day for 13% of the shift
8. Squatting: 1 hour/day for 13% of the shift
9. Climbing, including ladders: less than 1 hour/day for 13% of the shift
10. Lift/Carry/Pull: up to 50 lbs. up to 1 hour/day for 13% of the shift
11. Push: up to 100 lbs. using a pushcart up to 1 hour/day for 13% of the shift
12. Reaching: above the shoulders with the use of arms for 1 hour/day for 13% of the shift
