Position Summary:
This position is part of a highly collaborative and results-driven IT team responsible for supporting and maintaining critical enterprise and gaming infrastructure across the organization. The Systems Engineer will focus on the stability, performance and lifecycle management of core infrastructure systems, including servers, virtualization platforms, storage, Active Directory, Microsoft technologies and other operational systems that support business and gaming environments. This role is responsible for analyzing, improving, supporting and maintaining infrastructure platforms and system integrations, while also leading and contributing to cross-functional technical initiatives across the Graton IT environment. The position works closely with IT Support, Networking, Cyber Security, application teams, vendors and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure and compliant infrastructure operations. 
 
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
2. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Graton Resort & Casino standards, policies, and
procedures.
3. Troubleshoot system problems and provide escalated support for operational issues.
4. Maintain Graton Resort & Casino's systems, including monitoring and tuning system performance.
5. Collaborate with vendors and project teams to plan and implement new systems, system upgrades and resolutions for operational issues.
6. Maintain the physical and virtual server infrastructure. Deploy software, hardware and firmware
upgrades.
7. Use programming or scripting to automate routine tasks.
8. Participate in an after-hours on-call duty rotation.
9. Investigate and plan business solutions, technologies, and opportunities that can benefit the
organization and/or their area of responsibility.
10. Create, maintain, and organize technical documentation for all property information systems.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
2. Must be a highly driven individual in pursuing operational and project goals while working through a team driven workload.
3. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, or related field, or eight (8) years of relevant experience including:
4. Hands-on experience administering enterprise virtualization platforms, including Nutanix AHV and/or VMware vSphere environments. Strong understanding of virtual machine lifecycle management, cluster operations, high availability, resource allocation, and performance optimization within production datacenter environments.
5. Foundational understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker) and Kubernetes architecture, including core components and how containerized workloads operate within an on-premises enterprise environment.
6. Experience with public and private cloud, such as Amazon Web Service, Microsoft Azure, or VMware is a plus.
7. Expert knowledge of relevant software applications, such as Microsoft O/S, MS-Office, SharePoint, Teams, and Visio.
8. Ability to work well in a highly team driven environment.
9. Ability to perform well under pressure.
10. Position requires after hours, on-call availability (tier 2), daily work schedule.
 
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience supporting high-availability infrastructure in a gaming, casino, or other 24x7 regulated environment.
2. Experience with public and private cloud infrastructure and virtualized compute and storage
environments, such as Amazon Web Service, Microsoft Azure, or VMware. Knowledge of hyper
converged storage is a plus.
3. Experience with programming/scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Bash, and automation
languages, such as Chef, Puppet, etc.
 
Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
2. Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
3. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
