CDL Yard Driver

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Yard Dog / CDL Yard Driver to support operations in Rome, GA. This role is responsible for safely moving trailers and trucks between the main production facility and warehouse locations while assisting with site duties, including compactor management.

This is a hands-on position ideal for candidates with previous yard driver, switcher, shuttler, hostler, or CDL driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Move trucks and trailers between the main plant and warehouse locations
• Safely operate yard equipment and maintain efficient trailer flow
• Manage and monitor compactor operations
• Perform routine inspections of vehicles and equipment
• Follow all DOT, safety, and company procedures
• Maintain communication with warehouse and production teams
• Keep yard organized and operating efficiently

Requirements

• Valid CDL required
• Clean driving record required
• Previous Yard Dog, Yard Spotter, Hostler, Switcher, Shuttle Driver, or related experience preferred
• Ability to safely maneuver trailers in tight spaces
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Dependable attendance and punctuality required
