JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance work for general facilities and equipment maintenance including carpentry, plumbing electrical, and mechanical work; assisting with HVAC maintenance; installing and/or removing equipment; and documenting and performing preventative maintenance, repairs and spare parts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):
• Inspect and check equipment for proper operating condition, make necessary adjustments, log test readings, and maintain, repair, or replace all essential equipment parts
• Read blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, mechanical/electrical diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly
• Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products such as industrial machinery or equipment, and measuring instruments
• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations
• Perform and document preventative maintenance based on a pre-determined schedule and calibrate equipment and systems as required
• Perform basic functions, including but not limited to, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and assist with plumbing and HVAC maintenance
• Install and/or remove equipment
• Perform job duties in conjunction with all established safety procedures and adhere to Lock Out/Tag Out requirements if working on production machinery
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:Â
• High School Diploma or GED
• 5 years related work experience
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Basis computer skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation (car or truck)
• Appropriate, valid driver’s license
