Position Summary
Rome Health is seeking a dependable and patient-focused Medical Imaging Tech Aide to join our Medical Imaging team on a per diem basis. Under general supervision, the Medical Imaging Tech Aide supports departmental workflow and patient care operations while maintaining productivity and ensuring a safe, compassionate patient experience.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining patient and departmental flow within the imaging department
- Provide compassionate, appropriate, and accurate patient care support
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, physicians, technologists, and staff
- Verify patient identity using two patient identifiers
- Assess patient mobility limitations and physical capabilities
- Prioritize patient safety and identify contraindications or concerns for technologist review
- Support patient preparation and transport as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and departments to provide patient-focused care
- Scan pertinent documents and technologist notes into PACS
- Assist in expediting patient throughput and successive imaging services
- Demonstrate competency in all assigned responsibilities following departmental training
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- Experience in an acute care hospital or medical office setting preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages and varying medical conditions
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented healthcare environment
- Basic computer and documentation skills preferred
