JOB SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of job orders and the assessment, training, oversight, mentoring, evaluation, and discipline of a team of operators as they safely perform manual duties to process and complete quality product for timely distribution to Indium Corporation customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):
- Plan and schedule activities within the area of supervision in collaboration with other departmentsÂ
- Direct the activities and formally evaluate the individual performance of a team of operatorsÂ
- Maintain functional knowledge of processes within the area of supervision and coordinate resources to ensure jobs are completed on time and in accordance with quality requirementsÂ
- Observe, monitor, and ensure compliance with all safety requirements and practices, including taking action to stop production if safety is compromisedÂ
- Interact effectively with Indium Corporation colleagues, suppliers, customers, and auditorsÂ
- Access computer systems to complete all required documentation to track work, record scrap, and maintain accurate records of completed parts and required inventoryÂ
- Apply Lean manufacturing principles and promote continuous improvement in productivity and the elimination of wasteÂ
- Demonstrate effective leadership and management skills to hire, promote, discipline, transfer, and terminate operatorsÂ
- Assess operator abilities, ensure appropriate training, determine competency, maintain training records and monitor operator developmentÂ
- Uphold all policies and procedures and resolve conflictÂ
- Review and approve time management recordsÂ
- Develop and maintain spreadsheets containing operational data and be well-versed in interpreting and presenting key performance metrics based on said dataÂ
- Uphold and promote the standards of Indium Corporation’s Quality Management System, including following procedures, work instructions, and recommending improvementsÂ
- Attend training as needed or assignedÂ
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 years related work experience or prior experience as an Indium Corporation Production Group LeaderÂ
- Associates degree preferredÂ
- Possess and demonstrate positive mentoring and leadership qualitiesÂ
- Knowledge of manufacturing concepts such as planning, scheduling, inventory management, workflow, and basic lean conceptsÂ
- Demonstrated organizational skillsÂ
- Computer skills requiredÂ
- Good oral and written communication skillsÂ
- Basic math skillsÂ
- Treat all co-workers with dignity and respectÂ
- Positive attitude towards work and work environment
- Provide own source of transportation for any local/day travel, including travel between Indium Corporation facilities

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.
