Security Officer

Rome Health is seeking a dependable and professional Security Officer to join our Security team at our main campus. This position is primarily scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; however, flexibility is required to assist with coverage for vacations, call-ins, and other staffing needs.

The securtiy officer will maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property while providing exceptional customer service in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital property and monitor surveillance systems to maintain a safe and secure environment
• Respond promptly and professionally to hospital emergency codes, including fire alarms, security assistance calls, and active threat situations
• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic as needed
• Investigate incidents, security breaches, and suspicious activity
• Complete detailed reports documenting observations, incidents, and security activities
• Perform routine inspections and assist with preventive maintenance of security equipment
• Provide assistance and support to patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Security Guard License (Guard Card) required
• Basic computer skills required
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations
• Previous healthcare or security experience preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 4 hours at a time
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
