A health services network on Long Island is currently seeking a new,licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to theirPediatric team at one of their facilities in Suffolk County.
Responsibilities:
The Pediatric Nurse (RN) will:
* Provideclinical supervision to the Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Medical Assistants (MAs) on the Care Team
* Assistwith applicant screening, selection, training, providing feedback for performance evaluations, and providing information related to employee discipline and termination of staff
* Administerprescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and per orders
* Plan, articulate, and coordinatecare and interventions
* Reviewpatient charts for missing labs, reports, and/or open orders and reviews as part of care team huddles
* Prepareequipment and aidthe Physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients
* Verifychief complaint and takevital signs as requested
* Reviewthe Electronic Health Record (EHR) active medication list with patients
* Coordinateoutpatient work-up and or treatment plans when patient situation requires it
* Contactpatients with test results and providerecommendations on cases per Physician determination and/or standards of care
* Triageurgent same day or double booked appointment requests
* Documentprogress notes in electronic health record within 24 hours
* Managein-basket requests and responds to all requests in a timely manner
* Performother job-related duties, as required
Qualifications:
* 1+ year of Nursing experience in an Ambulatory and/or Hospital setting
* Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
* NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
* BLS certification
* Experience working with the Pediatric population
* Knowledge of policies and procedures related to Infection Control, Environmental Safety, and Patient Confidentiality
* Knowledge of Medical Chart Reporting
* Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
* Patient oriented
* Great interpersonal skills
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
* Strong attention to detail
* Highly organized
Desired Skills: * Bachelor's and/or Master'sDegree in Nursing
